FAQ
About this calculator.
Straight answers about Payble, your money and how it works.
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Markup is profit as a share of the cost. Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Buying for 600 and selling for 900 is a 50% markup and a 33% margin.
How do I find the price for a target margin?
Divide the cost by one minus the margin. For a 40% margin on a cost of 600, the price is 1,000.
What should my margin be?
It depends on the trade and on your fixed costs. The break-even calculator shows whether your prices cover your bills.
