Getting started

Opening and setting up your business.

How do I open a Payble business account?

Tell us about your business on our Get started page. A member of our team contacts you personally, sets you up and helps you complete your identity (KYC) verification. You can then start taking payments and managing your business.

What do I need to verify my business?

You will be asked for your identity and business details in the app. The app lists exactly what it needs at each step.

Can I use Payble on a computer?

Yes. As well as the app, you can sign in to the business portal on the web with your account.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

You can reset it from your settings. The app sends a one-time code to confirm it is you, and then lets you choose a new password.

Taking payments

Cards, transfers, links and QR codes.

How can customers pay me?

By card or contactless on a Payble reader or terminal, by bank transfer to your business account number, through a payment link, by scanning a QR code, or by ordering on your online storefront.

Do I need a card reader to be paid?

Only for card and contactless payments in person. Transfers, payment links, QR codes and storefront orders do not need one.

Where can I see a payment a customer says they made?

In your transaction ledger in the app, where every payment has a reference, a channel and a status. Only release goods once it shows there.

How do I give a customer a receipt?

The app sends a digital receipt when a sale is made. You can also open any past sale and download or share its receipt as a PDF.

Can I create a payment link for any amount?

Yes. You can set the amount, let the customer enter it, or build a link from products in your catalogue.

Your money and transfers

Sending money and keeping records.

How do I send money to a bank account?

Open transfers, choose the recipient's bank, enter the account number and the amount, check the verified name and confirm. You get a receipt with a reference.

Can I save people I pay often?

Yes. After a transfer you can save the recipient so the next payment takes fewer steps.

What are the fees?

Every fee is on the pricing page, before VAT, and there is no monthly fee on Pay as you go. The app shows any fee before you confirm.

How can I get a statement for my accountant?

Open financial statements, choose the period and export it as a PDF or Excel file.

Your team and security

Roles, passcodes and staying safe.

How do I add a team member?

Open your team, add their details and choose a role: admin, finance, manager, supervisor, sales or cashier. They receive a temporary passcode to sign in.

Someone left. How do I remove their access?

Deactivate their account in your team. It takes effect straight away, and their past activity stays in your records.

Will Payble ever ask for my password or a one-time code?

Never. No one from Payble, your bank or anyone else legitimate will ask for your password, your PIN or a one-time code. If someone does, do not share it.

How is my money protected?

See the security page for who licenses the banking behind Payble, how deposits are insured and how personal data is protected.

Stock, orders and your storefront

Catalogue, orders and selling online.

How do I add my products?

Open products and stock, add an item with its name, category, cost and selling price, and set a reorder level if you want a low-stock warning. You can also duplicate an item to save time.

Can I sell services as well as products?

Yes. Services sit in the same catalogue as products and do not carry stock counts.

How do I set up my storefront?

Open storefront settings, choose shop mode or menu mode, add your logo and banner, add your delivery locations and set your VAT rate. Then share the link or print the QR code.

Can I use my own web address?

Yes. Add a custom domain in storefront settings and the app shows the record to add at your domain provider.

Credit book, invoices and reports

Who owes what, and how you are doing.

How do I record credit given to a customer?

Open the credit book, choose or add the customer, enter the amount or attach goods from your stock, and choose a due date. Log each repayment when it arrives.

Can I send a customer a reminder?

Yes. You can send a reminder on WhatsApp and share a statement as a PDF.

How do I send an invoice?

Create the invoice from a customer, add the lines and due date, and share the link or PDF, or send it on WhatsApp. It includes a payment link, and you can schedule reminders.

What is the business health score?

A score out of 100 that summarises how your business is trading, with the reasons behind it and a projection for the next week. Projections are estimates and can be wrong.

Hardware

Card readers and terminals.

How do I get a Payble card reader or terminal?

Existing Payble merchants can register interest on the hardware page: choose a device, choose to lease or buy, and give a few details. The team gets in touch.

What is the difference between the Mini, Pro and Max?

The Mini is a card reader that pairs with your smartphone. The Pro is a compact terminal with its own screen that works on its own or with your phone. The Max is an all-in-one terminal for busy counters.

What is Till?

Till is our point of sale for shops and restaurants. It runs in a web browser on a tablet, a phone or a computer, and it is also available on our all-in-one terminal.
