Start without hardware

Not ready for a reader? Start anyway.

A lot of businesses begin with no equipment at all. Add a reader when card payments in person become worth having.

Customers scan to pay, and it is recorded.

  • Payment links

Send a link in a chat and see it turn to paid.

  • Bank transfers

Customers pay to your account number and it is matched.

  • An online storefront

    Take orders and payment online.

Coming soon

Tap on Phone: no reader needed.

Take contactless card payments on the phone in your pocket, and keep a reader for the counter. Not available yet, and no date has been set.

Lease or buy

Do the sums before you decide.

Leasing keeps your cash free. Buying costs less if you keep the device long enough. See where the two meet for the device you have in mind.

Device

Lease paid

months

Leases run 6 to 18 months. For a longer time, the total assumes the lease is renewed on the same terms.

Buy (once)

₦30,000

Lease over 12 months

₦60,000

Cheaper over this time

Buying

Leasing costs the same as buying after about 6 months. If you will use the device for longer than that, buying costs less in total.

Paying less at a time can be worth more than the lower total if cash is tight. That choice is yours.

This compares published prices only. It leaves out any fees, deposits or conditions that may apply, which are given when you register interest. It is a planning aid, not an offer.

Straight answers about Payble, your money and how it works.

How do I get a Payble card reader or terminal?

Payble hardware is available on request. An existing Payble business account can register interest online: choose a device, choose to lease it or buy it outright, and give a few details. The team then gets in touch with the next steps.

Do I need a business account first?

Yes. Card readers and terminals are for existing Payble merchants, so you sign in to your business account when you register interest. If you are not a merchant yet, tell us about your business first and we will set you up.

What is the difference between leasing and buying?
